Highlights of the Week
Early in the week, I noticed a few hundred ice pancakes collecting below one of the Saco River dams in Saco.
The local flocks of Wild Turkeys joined forces (at least for a short while) and foraged together on both sides of a Biddeford backroad. I tallied a personal high count of 60 birds!
Midweek, I saw 4+ immature Iceland Gulls near the Portland Fish Pier and the continuing overwintering Orange-crowned Warbler in Pond Cove, Cape Elizabeth.
Wild Edible of the Week
I went winkling this week, twice gathering 15 Atlantic Dogwinkles who I brought home to cook up and eat.
Moon Challenge Report
My Tree Twig Moon continues. I've photographed and sketched 11 species.
