Welcome

My name is Josh Fecteau (my last name is pronounced fek•toe), and I'm pleased to welcome you to my website (formerly known as Josh's Journal).  My work is grounded in a daily practice of getting to know the natural beings with whom I share a local landbase. May my experiences of observing nature and my love of earth skills such as gathering and preparing wild food and medicine inspire you to get outdoors.

I grew up along the coast of southern Maine, in the city of Biddeford, but left the state in 2001 to attend college in eastern Massachusetts. At about the time I graduated college with a degree in Mathematics, I discovered my passion for the natural world. For most of my 20's, I spent countless hours exploring the world with the curiosity of a child, observing and interacting with my suburban surroundings in fresh, exciting ways. In 2013, I returned to Maine with a deeper appreciation of the coastal and inland sites I explored in my youth and a growing desire to share my love of the natural world with others hungry for wild connection.
