Quiz #47: Tree

Showing photos of this tree's twigs (as I did for a different tree species in Quiz #45) would probably give the identity away too easily, so this time the bark is all you have to go by. This species is uncommon or absent in much of northern New England but common here in eastern Massachusetts. Name the tree in the photo below.
