Dragonflies: Eastern Amberwing

While searching for butterflies at a few local spots, I couldn't help but notice these Eastern Amberwing (Perithemis tenera) dragonflies. Males (above) have reddish-brown bodies with yellow stripes and entirely red-tinged wings with red stigmas (solid spots on the outer part of each wing). Females (below) have similar bodies and clear wings with brown patches. Look for these red predators over small ponds and streams, or even in butterfly gardens some distance from water.
