I found these tracks earlier this month on a beach in southeastern Massachusetts. What kind of mammal left them?

That pattern fits with a member of the Weasel family. I’ll guess they were left by a Mink.
Good guess… I can see how the paired tracks could remind one of the Weasel family — they will often travel in a 2X2 pattern, with both front and hind tracks double-registering. But that’s not what happened here.
