Quiz #56: Bird/Plant

I recently spotted this migrant bird along a small stream in Plainville, MA. Name the bird and the native shrub whose fruit capsules are pictured. Hint: I wrote a post about this shrub late last year.  Click on the photo for a larger image.

  1. My guess based upon the all-yellow underside and distinctive markings in the throat/breast area – Canada Warbler.

    1. Good guess, but not a Canada. Canada Warbler has a complete white eye-ring, and wouldn’t show a yellow eye-brow. Also, it may be hard to tell, but the bird in the photo has a red cap.
